Agriculture

South Dakota Wheat Growers' Association Scholarship:  Scholarships of $500 for Lake Area Tech students completing an internship with South Dakota Wheat Growers.*

Cenex Scholarship:  Five scholarships to technical schools in South Dakota , $500 each to first-year or second-year students.

Harvest States Scholarship:  Six scholarships to technical schools in South Dakota , $300 each to first-year or second-year students.

• Harvest States Agri-Business Scholarship:  Two scholarships of $250 to first-year or second-year students.*

Northeast Elevator Managers' Association Scholarship:  One scholarship of $250 to a second-year student.

Watertown Co-op Elevator:  One scholarship of $500 awarded to a second-year student.*

Domestic Seed and Supply:  One scholarship of $500 awarded to a second-year student.

South Dakota Grain and Feed Association:  One scholarship of $250 awarded to a second-year student.

South Dakota Fertilizer and Ag Chemical Association:  Five scholarships of $500 each awarded to second-year students.

Cenex Scholarship:  Six scholarships to technical schools in South Dakota , $600 each to first-year or second-year students.

Domestic Seed and Supply Scholarship:  One scholarship of $500 awarded to a student completing an internship with Domestic Seed and Supply.

Zenica Scholarship:  Twenty, $500 scholarships for students who want to become professional applicators, contact the Ag Department.

Automated Manufacturing Technology

• 3M Automated Manufacturing Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship.*

Automotive Technology

Fel-Pro Scholarship:  Open to all students, $500.

Lock-Tite Scholarship:  Open to all students, $500.

South Dakota Automotive Dealers Association:  One scholarship of $500 awarded to a second-year student.*

T-TEN:  Restricted to Toyota Technical Education Network students.

• Paul Young Memorial Scholarship:  One scholarship of$250 awarded to a first-year student and one scholarship of $250 awarded to a second-year student.*

Standard Parts:  $500 scholarships awarded to first-year students.

Aviation Maintenance Technology

Helicopter Association International Scholarship:  One $1,000 scholarship for helicopter/engine training.

EAA Aviation Achievement Scholarship:  Two $300 scholarships.

Teledyne Continental Aviation Excellence Scholarship:  One $400 scholarship.

EAA Tri-State Aeronautical Engineering Scholarship:  One $6,000 scholarship.

The Wagner Foundation Professional Mechanics Scholarship:  One $200 scholarship.

The Bill Falck Memorial Scholarship:  One $200 scholarship.

Professional Aviation Maintenance Association and Superior Air Parts Scholarship:  Multiple $1,000 scholarships.

Banking/Finance

• Rick Arbach Memorial Scholarship:  One scholarship of $250. Open to all second-year Agriculture, Banking/ Finance and Business Accounting students.*

• Independent Bankers Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship awarded to a second year student.*

Building Trades Technology

South Dakota Retail Lumbermen's Scholarship:  One scholarship of $500 awarded to a second-year student.*

National Association of Homebuilders' Scholarship:  Two scholarships of $500 awarded to first-year or second-year students.*

• James VonEye Memorial Scholarship:  One $250 scholarship awarded to an incoming student.*

• Area Building Suppliers Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship awarded to a second-year student.*

Cosmetology

Standard Beauty Supply Scholarship:  One scholarship of $200 awarded to an outstanding Cosmetology student after completion of program.*

Lola Sackreiter Scholarship:  One scholarship of $100 awarded to a beginning student.  Certain conditions may apply.*

Dental Assisting

Juliette Southard Scholarship: Amount varies.  Open to students enrolled in an accredited Dental Assisting program.  Apply by writing to American Dental Assistants' Association, 919 North Michigan Avenue, Suite 4100 , Chicago , Illinois 60611 .

• South Dakota Dental Foundation Scholarship:  Three scholarships of $200. Open to all incoming students.*

• Watertown Area Dentists Scholarship:  One scholarship of $500 awarded to an incoming student.*

Diesel Technology

Butler Caterpillar Scholarship:  Four $300 scholarships awarded to second-year students.*

• Dennis Tesch Memorial Scholarship:  $500 awarded to a second-year student.*

• John Dagel Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship.*

RD Offutt:  One scholarship awarded to a second-year student. Amount varies.

South Dakota Heavy Equipment Association:  One scholarship awarded to a second-year student. Amount varies.

Electronics Systems Technology

• 3M Company Scholarship:  One scholarship of $500 awarded to a first-year student.*

• Jon Nash Memorial Scholarship: One scholarship of $250 awarded to a first-year student.*

SD Association of Telephone Cooperatives Scholarship:  $450 awarded to second-year students. Certain conditions apply.*

East River Electric:  $250 awarded to a second-year student.

Best Business Products Scholarship:  One scholarship of $500 awarded to a second-year student.

Health

• Brown Clinic Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship awarded to a student enrolled in a health career.*

• Prairie Lakes Hospital Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship awarded to a student enrolled in a health career.*

Machine Tool Technology

Maisie Barrick Scholarship:  One scholarship of $500 awarded to a second-year student.*

•Jim Tellinghusien Memorial Scholarship:  One $250 scholarship.*

• 3M Company Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship awarded to a first-year student.*

• Twin City Die Castings Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship.*

Marketing/Management/Sales

• Excellence in Marketing Scholarship:  One $250 scholarship awarded to a second-year student.*

Medical Assisting

American Association of Medical Assistants, Maxine Williams Scholarship:  $500 scholarships awarded to students enrolled in a post-secondary Medical Assisting program.

• Elva Sigurdson Scholarship:  One $250 scholarship.*

Medical Laboratory Technology

• Dawn Nelson Memorial Scholarship:  One scholarship awarded each year to a second-year Medical Laboratory Technology student. Applications may be obtained from Medical Lab Technology faculty.*

Nursing

State Board of Nursing:  Limited $500 scholarships awarded to students enrolling in nursing at South Dakota institutions.

Jenkins Living Center :  Scholarship of $100 awarded mid-year to a current student.*

• Dorothy Schooley Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship.*

Physical Therapist Assistant

• Physical Therapist Assistant II Scholarship:  One $250 scholarship awarded to a second-year student.*

Welding Technology

• Chad Peterson Memorial Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship awarded to an incoming student.*

• Welding Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship awarded to a current student.*

General Scholarships Available To All Lake Area Tech Students

Hatterscheidt Foundation Scholarship:  Six scholarships of $1,000 each awarded to high school seniors who are in the upper 1/3 of their graduating class and show a financial need.*

Equity Scholarships:  Available to students in a program non-traditional for their gender.  Contact the Lake Area Tech Counselor's Office.*

Single Parent/Displaced Homemaker/Pregnant Teen Scholarship:  Scholarship monies are available to displaced homemakers and single parents based on funds available and student need.  Contact Lake Area Tech Counselor's Office.*

• F&M Bank Scholarship:  F&M Bank awards four $750 scholarships each year to incoming students.*

Norwest Bank Scholarship:  Norwest Bank awards scholarships each year to students entering post-secondary education.  One scholarship is designated to Lake Area Tech specifically.  Contact the Watertown Norwest Bank for more information.*

Ole Williamson Scholarship:  One scholarship awarded to a first-year student. Amount varies.

Aid Association for Lutheran Scholarship:  $500 scholarships awarded to first-year students.

• Bank of South Dakota Scholarship:  Two $500 scholarships awarded each year to incoming students.*

• Citibank Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship awarded each year to an incoming student.*

• First Premier Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship awarded each year to an incoming student.*

• Fryslie Memorial Scholarship:  Two $500 scholarships.*

• Herb Jenson Memorial Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship.*

• Timmerman Scholarship:  One $500 scholarship.*

Students who have been selected for a scholarship from any organization have a responsibility to inform the Financial Aid Office so that appropriate adjustments can be made to their financial aid package.
